This is only a test

I discovered an app to allow me to post to my blog from my iPhone. How cool is that. Maybe I can start updating it again.

a great trip

We had a very nice trip. The weather was great, the place was beautiful, and we got to do a lot of different things. We all said we would go back there in a second. This is the view from our room. It is looking at the village.

Our last day there it snowed at a rate of 1-2 inches an hour. Buddy went snow boarding by himself and Trevor and I took a bus to a place that had snowshoeing. We didn't shoe very far because he was more interested in falling down in the deep snow than walking on the snowshoes. It was a nice getaway from the hotel though.

One evening we went to the top of the mountain and went tubing. We were there when the sun set and it was gorgeous.

Trevor absolutely loved tubing. We paid for an hour but I lost track of time and noone stopped us so got our monies worth.

Afternoon snack after ski school and well deserved.

A little friend we made next to the hottub :)

Yes, the pool was heated but still pretty cold.

Now all I have to do is scrapbook all these pictures. I am ready! I'll share pics of the layouts when they are done. Have a nice weekend!

ski buddy

We put Trevor in ski school again this year. He did much better this year than last. What a difference a year makes; mostly in attitude. He didn't cry when we dropped him off and he was real excited both before and after his first day. He gave a very enthusiastic "YES" when we asked him if he wanted to do it again tomorrow. The first day he stayed at the bottom of the mountain and learned how to stop and go. They call it pizza and french fries. If you want to stop or slow down, make your skis look like pizza. If you want to go straight, make them look like french fries. The second day he was ready to go to the top of the mountain and get on the ski lift. The instructor worked on their turning the second day. She was amazing and Trevor loved her. He was ready to go back a third day but when we woke up it was snowing really hard and he changed his mind. There's always next year.

They tell them to start up their race cars and turn the wheel. I guess the simulation of your hands turning a steering wheel forces your body to turn in the same direction. What a perfect pizza. He's got that part down.

I don't know what he's doing with hands here :)

More to come soon.
Happy Friday!

vail

We went to Vail, CO the week before last for some winter activities. I can't say we went just to ski because with a small child you do a lot of things other than ski. There was an ice rink in the square where all the restaurants were so our first night there Trevor wanted to ice skate. He's never been on ice skates before so we knew this would be interesting. It was all we could do to keep him standing up.

I'll post more pics of our trip later.

A warm fire

So what do you do when you want a fire but don't have any firewood? Scrounge around in the basement for scrap lumber. Then before it burns out because you have hardly anything to burn, you roast a marshmallow.

Yum!

Going ...

going ...

gone.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It's time to start getting ready for Christmas.
